Allen Robert Kuhn was born in Waterloo in 1962, the son of Rosalee Ann Harbaugh Kuhn and Louis Allen Kuhn. His sister, Loralee Ann Kuhn, was born in 1958 in Jefferson. The family lived in Jefferson but was visiting family in Waterloo when Allen was born. Allen died suddenly at his home in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, AZ, in December 2023.
Allen’s mother, Rosalee (1936-1998) was born in Greene County and was a teacher beginning in the 1950s at Jamaica Elementary in Jamaica. His father Louis (1931-2003), also from a Greene County family, was on the Jefferson police force in the 1970s. Both are buried at the Jefferson Cemetery.
The family moved to Arizona in 1974 and Allen graduated high school there. He worked as a hospital security officer and later as a hospital dispatcher at several hospitals during his career. He loved the work of keeping people safe.
Allen leaves his sister Loralee Ann Kuhn Verdugo, and many Kuhn and Harbaugh cousins to remember him. He also affected the lives of the many people he helped through the years as a security officer.
Allen will be buried with his parents at Jefferson Cemetery at a private family graveside service at a future date.
